What fabric is the Bombshell made of?
We spent 18 months finding the ideal fabric that would provide comfort and style while also ensuring that your clothes would be protected underneath from spills and stains. We found a incredibly soft jersey blend that is 53% Hemp, 44% Organic Cotton and just the right amount of stretch. We are proud to source sustainable and organic fabric from our vendor in Canada and produce the BOMBSHELL™ locally in Los Angeles, California. Good for the environment, good for you. Wash less, wear often.
What does "Tolutina" mean?
The name Tolutina is a loose translation from Fijian, meaning three mothers. Why Fijian? Co-founder Bobbie and her husband Ted were Peace Corps volunteers when they were first married back in the 70s. Their destination - the Fiji islands! They taught English to school children while living in what would safely be called a "tiny house" today. Thirty years later, our whole family returned to the tiny island (no roads or electricity). Fiji holds a very special place in all of our hearts.
Why is open adoption important to Tolutina?
Tolutina is a company that was created by a mom and her daughters. So it's only natural that the topic of families would come up. We hope to create a welcoming platform to raise awareness for open adoption, recognizing that family is created in all sorts of ways. It is a cause close to our hearts. Co-founder Christiana and her husband Matt were blessed with their son Callan thanks to the incredible gift of open adoption. They have an ongoing relationship with Callan's birthparents and consider open adoption "one big love fest." When Christiana first considered developing her mom's idea for the "mommy smock," she was so thrilled that it wasn't specifically a pregnancy product.
The Bombshell can be used by all moms - - whether your child grew in your stomach or your heart! Read the whole story on our blog.
